UNTIL IT BECAME A MELODY

The gates of hell were open last afternoon.

A wild beast wailing in the living room.

Rocking back and forth, back and forth until it became a melody.

The air is still.

Life is dead.

But one murmur in the dark.

Teeth against rusty metal.

He weeps for his master,

For whom dignity is robbed

Dear Sir, take me with you. For when you cry, I cry too.

And when you shy, I shy with you.

Blood is thicker than water but love flows deeper

Down and into the open craters, down in the deep blue ocean

Swim with me now

Don’t you hear the the nymphs calling?

I shed my skin and bare it all

When I sigh, you see wrinkles unfold

It’s time for the accused to stand in trial

I scream, I scream

You don’t hear a thing

Guilty, guilty the weeping willows sing

The yarn is unraveling, and tangling my hair

Flesh and skin, flesh and skin

Don’t rub me down

I’m in despair

I am a creature

Banished from this land

To suffer in silence, and bleed words like Lucifer cared

You hear my screams in the dark of the night

When mournful demons and imps gather in union

Dance round the fire, Hell’s blazing glory

Rocking back and forth, back and forth until it became a melody.

A sick old tune.

Dear Sir, take me with you. For when you cry, I cry too.

And when you shy, I shy with you.
