“THE VOICE MECHANICS”
Looking for somewhere fresh to escape to? Perhaps even a quirky first date? To our dear readers, you can thank us later. Legendary Japanese group, “MAYWA DENKI”, is set to perform their latest – “The Voice Mechanics” – at the Star Hall Kow Loon Bay, Hong Kong International Trade and Exhibition Centre on the 26th of April, 2011.
Having already performed once in Hong Kong’s City Hall to a sold out crowd back in 2006, the iconic group is setting their sights on the international stage with sold out rock concerts and exhibitions around the World.
As with their usual flair, Maywa Denki promises a uniquely intriguing performance with their self-made musical instruments such as the Otamatone. The tadpole-looking instrument can also be downloaded as an iPhone application (the genius of Japanese inventors) and we heard that during the concert, those with the application will be invited to join in an even more unique iPhone orchestra segment. If that wasn’t unique enough, a dance segment is even thrown in the mix.
If your interest isn’t piqued by this yet, we don’t know what else would. Cool artsy Japanese band with a 5 year absence from Hong Kong; time to break out of your social systems people.
Tickets sold at HK Ticketing outlets. Prices range from HK$ 438, HK$ 338, HK$ 238 to HK$ 180.
