Taking Cover | Henry Holland x Le Specs

In an amalgamation of effortless Australian cool and irreverent British charm, iconic eyewear label Le Specs has teamed up with Henry Holland, best known for his cheeky and referential tees in creating a limited edition, unisex Henry Holland for Le Specs collection of sunglasses.

Both brands having already achieved cult status as being forerunners in epitomizing the lifestyles and attitudes of too-cool-for-school youths all over the world, the collaboration makes perfect sense and takes the philosophy of being loud and proud to a whole new level. On working with Le Specs, Henry said, “I chose to work with Le Specs after meeting with the team and finding myself among like-minded creative professionals who love their work and are passionate about what they do.”

With a range of 8 different styles, the collection focuses on round silhouettes and goggle-like shapes in a series of classic colors along with clear, green and purple highlights. Le Specs designer Hamish Tame explains, ‘We started building on a circular story, and it evolved into more of a fixation with eyebrows and facial features. The overall aesthetic of the range feels very fresh, and Henry was constantly coming up with new and crazy ideas that we bounced around.”

Keeping in line with Henry Holland’s tradition of including various pop culture and street style references in his work, the pieces carry names such as ‘Muffin Top’, ‘Lennon’ and ‘Hoodie’, each delightfully quirky yet functional at the same time.

The Henry Holland for Le Specs collection will be available from October and is retailing exclusively at Actually…, located at 29A Seah Street.
