Suede Live at The Coliseum | Review
A glistening night it was at The Coliseum, Hard Rock Hotel, when glam-rockers Suede took the stage and belted out a quantity of their Britpop classics as part of their Asia Tour 2013.
Kickstarting their set with 3 brand new tracks from their latest album, Bloodsports, Brett Anderson and crew proved to adoring fans in the audience that despite thicker waistlines and increasing grey hair, Suede still had it in them to deliver a flawless performance! Performing hits from Coming Up, Head Music and Bloodsports, fans were treated to a medley of old and new hit singles so it was fair for those seeing Suede for the first time or their third. Hits such as Trash, Beautiful Ones and Animal Nitrate were easily the crowd’s favourite as it sparked a singalong session between the band and fans.
Around the second half of the set, Brett Anderson, with his devilishly charming ways and Morrissey-etiquettes, got off the stage in between a couple of songs and serenaded adoring fans who were in the front, all busily snapping photographs or taking videos of the beautiful man who never seem to age. Ending off the concert with Saturday Night during the encore, a stupendous mass of coloured-smoke surrounded the stage as Brett’s voice echoed the infectious chorus through the audience, making the performance seemingly surreal.
Despite being no longer high on diesel and gasoline unlike their youthful and glory days,
Surely, this will not be the last we hear from the band.
Long live Suede.
