Singapore Guide | Music – The Analog Girl

The Analog Girl

Named by TIME magazine as one of 5 Music Acts To Watch in 2008, The Analog Girl aka Mei Wong is fast becoming one of tomorrow’s brightest stars to rock a different sound with her latest EP Sometime Next Galaxy. Her dark, twisty and creepily gentle tunes have taken her all over the world.  The international spotlight first shone on her when Nike Europe chose her as they sought for a new kind of sound to accompany their retail campaign. She’s taken her music to legendary venues such as The Knitting Factory in New York City, The Spitz in London, Cirque Electrique in Paris, Soso Art Cafe in Japan and The Esplanade in Singapore. There is just no stopping this indie electro pop darling whom critics have fondly called “a young Yoko Ono-meets-Bjork”.

Why we love The Analog Girl: We love how she explores beyond her genre! If you’re new to her music, you should check out Starlight, a collaboration between The Analog Girl, Stealing Orchestra and rapper Maze from Portugal. Slightly different from her usual songs, The Analog Girl stepped out of her comfort zone and found her voice in a track that was more cheery and upbeat than her usual tracks.
