For This Cycle
Genre: Soul / Pop
At only 20 years old, singer/songwriter Weiwen Seah has already established his place in Singapore’s local music scene. Armed with his sincere vocals and acoustic guitar, Weiwen has captivated the hearts of many with his melodic “soul-pop” tunes. Performing under the moniker “For This Cycle”, Weiwen’s music proves to have no barriers, garnering support in countries from Finland to the Philippines. Beginning his musical journey at the age of 12, Weiwen has led a “nomadic” lifestyle, having lived in several countries including the U.S.A and Taiwan. Upon returning to his home country in June 2008, Weiwen began working with local indie label Big Ear Musica and highly renowned producer Roland Lim on debut EP. Featuring crowd favorites such as Paper Feet, Oceans, and For What It’s Worth, Weiwen released his 5-song EP to a sold out audience on the 11th of July featuring collaborations with Ex- Electrico Guitarist Daniel Sassoon and Ex-Rafe drummer Jordan Cheng.
Best described as “having ice cream at the beach on a Friday night with your friends”, Weiwen’s unique blend of acoustic-guitar driven pop-rock is said to be way beyond his years. Set to make an impact on his listeners, Weiwen tells his midnight tales through his music.
Why we love For This Cycle: His soothing vocals paired with the warm tunes of his acoustic guitar makes him an instant favourite in our books. We can’t wait to see what else this young sensation has to offer in the future!
