Retrospective: China Fashion Week S/S 2014
This week, we bring you China Fashion Week S/S 2014.
Extablished in 1997 and held twice a year in Beijing, The event consists of fashion shows, professional contests, fashion forum, professional evaluation and more.
Within fifteen years’ development, China Fashion Week has become not only a top-rated platform for fashion design, ready-to-wear, accessories, styling, and other new designs and new technologies in China, but also a world-renowned platform for promoting brands, displaying originality, and broadcasting fashion trends.
Until now, more than 330 designers from over 10 countries, and more than 360 fashion brands and organizations have hold 791 fashion shows. Over 2,700 young designers and models have taken part in 104 professional contest finals. China Fashion Week attracts hundreds of media representatives from all over the world each season.
Chinese fashion designers are ready to defy well-established Western trends and bring to the global fashion scene a new understanding of aesthetic standards and norms. This growing pool of home-grown designers feel proud of their cultural heritage. And their daring designs are indeed becoming a powerful way of expression for young Chinese willing to explore new trends, as China becomes one of the most valuable fashion markets in the world.
