Regina Spektor | This Month’s Featured Artist

“I know it’s ridiculous, but most of the time when I feel the audience I’m always just like “wow, these people are really good people.” And that always just gives me inspiration to play with them.” – Regina Spektor

Possibly one of the most honest artist of our time and ActuallyMAG’s personal favourite, Russian-bred singer-songwriter Regina Spektor will be making her way to our sunny island on December 22. Gracing the stage at the Esplanade with special guest(& husband), Only Son, this is a show not to be missed!

Describing her own music as a mix of folk-meets-punk-meets-everything else, Regina Spektor works hard to ensure that each of her song has their own musical style as she does not want a distintive style to describe her music as a whole. As an aspiring artist who started writing her own music after being exposed to the music of Joni Mitchell and Ani DiFranco, Regina Spektor made her nationwide debut when she toured with The Strokes on their Room On Fire tour. Within 2 years, her songs were featured in various television shows such as CSI:NY, Grey’s Anatomy, Weeds, to name a few.

After her bestselling album “Begin to Hope” and the popular acclaimed “Far”, Regina Spektor never fails to not disappoint her fans with her new album “What We Saw From The Cheap Seats” . The album opens with one of one of Spektor’s best songs in years and offers an elegant and mature collection of songs throughout with a clever touch of her cutesy wit.

Regina Spektor is the queen of quirky and whimsical pop in our hearts.
Better make a date with her this December!
