Obedient Wives Club "Murder Kill Baby" EP Launch

Anyone with a penchant for cutesy indie music and a sharp ear for relentlessly passionate lyrics are sure to have heard of Obedient Wives Club. On 15 february, we met the product of their work in form of the new EP, Murder Kill Baby.

Before dwelling in further, Rocketswan did a stellar opening performance with mid-tempo light pop complimented with airy vocals. ‘Nowhere boy’ keeps everyone in daze with a sketchy intro but later transcends into a dream-wave like track.

Soon after, the members of OWC started occupying the stage making sure everything fits right to the T. However there were minor technical difficulties that were made a tad bearable with the lead pleasant attempt to interact with the audience that in return warmly welcome the band’s emergence onstage.

It started with a track from the new ep ‘Murder Kill Baby’ but one track that particularly struck my auditory nerves was the debut of single ‘Moonlight Rendevous’. It has a subtle romantic vibe while lead singer, YinQI coos in the same vein as the likes of Dum Dum Girls and Best Coast.

OWC’s sounded immaculately akin to how they sound through the computer speakers and the round of applause that ensued their final song only guarantees that it is not long before their many intimate gigs will branch out to bigger concerts regionally. The Actually team are lucky enough to be present for history in the making and I am convinced that Obedient Wives Club are on to greater things.
