Blitzkrieg Bop

Who says the greens are only reserved for the boot camp? Be in the front line of fashion and up your street cred with camouflage-printed clothing, which have been spilling out in the latest collections of The Ragged Priest, Union (in collaboration with U.S. Alteration), and the like. The camo print, which was a hit in the ’90s, has been making resurgence in the 2010s and is here to stay. Reinterpretations of the print have been popping out, donned by Tumblr boys and right up to high-fashion brands such as Marc Jacobs and Thakoon.

Show some army love sans the ammo by pairing the prints with neutrals for the most basic camo look, by throwing an army jacket over tees or denim anything for a straight-up rap girl vibe, or by gladly ‘mismatching’ it with neon-colored clothing a la Lana Del Rey at London’s Lovebox Festival 2012. Think pants, shirts, jackets, and almost anything. Or if you cringe at the thought of splashing the print in huge amounts, the print has been incorporated on neckties, sunglasses, and shoes as well. Whether you’re a sartorial friend or foe, banish the thought of looking all G.I. Joe and just give camo a chance. Full-on camo is a no-no, though.
