Art Apart Fair
The 3rd edition of the Art Apart fair takes place from the 17th to 19th of January at PARKROYAL On Pickering, located just a stone’s throw away from Clarke Quay. The Art Apart Fair has become the pioneer and leading Hotel Art Fair in Singapore, with unprecedented success during its first two editions.
Visitors who are unfamiliar with the concept of a hotel art fair will be in for a treat. Hotel art fairs have been growing in popularity ever since their inception during the mid-90s. Showcasing artwork in hotel rooms allows for a more intimate, art-viewing experience that is far removed from the strict confines of normal art galleries. Patrons and art collectors get to envisage the pieces in a private setting that recreates their own living or working spaces, making it easier to buy art. Now, hotel art fairs have become common in Asia, the United States, as well as Europe.
A strong believer that art has the power to connect all people, founder and organiser Rosalind Lim launched the Art Apart Fair to support emerging artists and give them a platform to showcase their work. It has always been her wish that through this event, new artists would find an audience, and art collectors would discover worthy individuals to commission. Part of the proceeds from this fair also go to the Halogen Foundation, which builds young leaders.
This year, the Art Apart Fair gives its patrons a special treat to thank them for their unwavering support. The Artists’ Garden will be a curated exhibition showcasing artwork from all over the globe. It boasts a complete journey through contemporary art, with every piece present in the gallery having been hand-picked by Ms. Lim herself.
So take a trip down to the Art Apart Fair, and perhaps you’ll find out that people you once thought were worlds apart from you may not be so different after all!
