An Artistic Exodus
Every February since 1999, art aficionados gather in the illustrious art district of the city, Kala Ghoda, to celebrate the eponymous Arts Festival. The first of its kind in India, the festival was created to encourage and support up-and-coming designers from all parts of the country.
Over the years, the fest has featured artists from the fields of literature, dance, music and visual arts. Budding photographer and marketing communications specialist, Anupa Shah took the opportunity to capture images of the festival this year from the lenses’ point of view.
During her 9-year stay in USA, Anupa used to have little trips back to visit India; and that was when she realized her love for photography. Having grown up in Mumbai, she said she always took the festivities and colours of this vibrant country for granted. However, she noticed that during her visits back home, she was capturing everyday moments with much more appreciation and passion. Her photographic interests vary from wildlife to portraits, and street photography to events. She believes that if you have the passion, patience and persistence; the perfect picture is just a click away.
