Actually… A great start to the new year

Puntastic wordplay isn’t the only good thing coming at you at the start of this new year. 2017 ended off great for us here (at) Actually and we have all consolidated our resolutions—one of which involves being more active and connected to the world. And so, what better way to start the year than going outside to enjoy the amazing wonders the world has to offer! It’s only January but it’s already feeling like Christmas with so much festivities going on all around.


To keep up with our new year’s resolution, Actually has come up with a list of some events we’re excited for, happening right smack at the start of the year (that’s now). And, we’re here to share it with you so that we might be able to be more connected to you, loyal readers! See? Connected to the world. And you, dear reader, are our world. ;^)


1. Actually “Then, How?—The Creative Block” Talk

Well, duh. We often find ourselves asking this same question over and over, “Then How?” It’s something that plagues us every day. Uncertainty whether something’s gonna fail, unsure as to what to do or how to start something, not knowing how to register for a talk event—the same question pops up. That’s why Actually’s there to finally answer that one question.


Hey, if we’re gonna connect with you guys, we gotta go face-to-face. And, you get to take away some nuggets of knowledge back home that’s sure to be useful to you later on. So, it’s a win-win! Start your year right with a drop of knowledge, eh?

2. Singapore Art Week 2018

Expanding on the idea of knowledge. Why not after learning a thing or two about creativity from our talk, you head on over to an exhibition, art fair, public art walk or even a lifestyle event during Singapore Art Week to spark some inspiration in your noggin? Shouldn’t take too long, especially if your mind’s still freshly coated with creative juices. Or if it’s not, this will definitely be a great time to fill it with creativity again. Delve into the world of rich visual arts, aesthetics and discovery.

3. World Snack Fair 2018

Venue: Suntec Singapore Convention Centre & Exhibition Centre

If the text wasn’t big enough, this is the *LARGEST* World Snack Fair 2018. Boasting thousands of renowned snacks from all over the world from Japan to Korea, the continent of Europe to Australia, and even closer to our home, the Southeast Asian countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines, this snack fair is looking promising for us here at Actually. So much for being active, looks like we’re stuffing ourselves again. One bite can’t hurt, right? Also as a small sampler at the door, there will be free tasting of some Doraemon Yoghurt at the front entrance.

4. St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival Singapore 2018

Like we haven’t talked about this event enough yet. We’re looking at one of, if not, the most lit music event of January in Singapore here with a lineup that’s sure to get your groove on—Metal-head, Electro-junkie, Hipster, you like the rough ride on the neck of the guitar or the electricity and rhythm of rap, whatever your taste and style in music, you will find something here. Seriously, no joke. Just look at the lineup and do your research.

5. Safari Zoo Run 2018

Okay, sure, we understand. Maybe you’re the kind that actually wants to be active in the most energetic and exercise-y sense of the word and at the same time, actually be more connected with the world naturally. Well, so are we here at Actually! Really, we are! So, here’s some way for you do all that and for a good cause. The aim of this run is to raise awareness for the conservation of native wildlife with each animal icon team supporting an endangered wildlife species in Singapore. How about that? Good for the conscience AND great for your health. Also, fun for the whole family!
