8 Reasons Why You Should Have Been At Clockenflap 2014
Last November, Christmas came early as our team set off for Hong Kong to be in attendance for the country’s celebrated music and arts festival of 7 years, Clockenflap! Three days of non-stop music and getting our grooves on, the festival was a surreal experience, hard to leave behind.
These are 8 reasons why you should have been at Clockenflap 2014 with you:
Location location location
Located by the sea at West Kowloon and in walking distance from Kowloon MTR, you will be faced with the scenic view of the skyline of Hong Kong Island at the site of Clockenflap. Watch and be mesmerized while day turns into night, and the lights from the tall building paint the skyline like a thousand rainbows.
No sweat baby!
The weather in Hong Kong is oh-so-forgiving at the end of the year when Clockenflap is being held. You can dance all day and night without breaking into a sweat. No more sweaty streaky hair, glossy cheeks or smudged eyeliner. It’s just like magic!
We all get bored some point or another in between sets we wanna catch so why not check out the Silent Disco? It was our first time and we love how strange it is that nothing else seem to matter the moment you put on the headphones. Get groovin’ like no ones watching! Did i mention it’s free too?
Clockenflap is a festival for everyone of all ages. Bring yo kids along and I bet they’ll have as much fun as you do at the Kids Stage where they have puppet shows, musical performances and games. Kids below 12 years old get to enter for free, otherwise Clockenflap provides a Family Package too!
Let’s celebrate ART
Clockenflap is about music at its most inspirational and art at its most accessible. The festival features many interactive installations, film animations, musical theatre performances and live graffiti painting. There is just so much to do there’s no time to get bored at all!
Yum yum to our tum tum
Offering a wide selection of food vendors, Clockenflap this year filled our tummies with delicious bites from Boomshack, Pizza Express, Bread and Beast, Piri Piri and more! The vendors are also widely spread out across the site so the queues doesn’t get too overwhelming and you don’t have to starve from waiting! They also had many filtered water stations set up to keep us hydrated throughout the day. Oh how sweet of you, Clockenflap!
First thing you see at the entrance is an area with scattered bean bags and a Somersby bar. Who can resist the urge to grab a cider and get lazy?
Mad Line Ups
Azealia Banks, Bombay Bicycle Club, Franz Ferdinand, The 1975 and Alt J. These are just some of the great acts who played at Clockenflap previously. The line up keeps getting better every year! This year, we waved our hands along to Travis, let Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips roll upon us in a gigantic transparent ball, bobbed our heads to CHVRCHES, celebrated love and life with Kool & The Gang, sing out loud to The Vaccines, party with Rudimental and by, was it funnnnnnnnnnnnn!
