Seoul Fashion Week Box #2: Dandy Style
After the first part of my youth at school (see SFW Box#1 Gothic & Dark) I went to spend my second one to the University and then I turned from a Goth/Dark/New Waver look to a Dandy one. Main “operators” in Dandy research always updated within SFW are Ko Tae Yong and Doyoung Jung (former designer of Fahrenheit brand, now debutting with a new brand in partnership with Lino Ieluzzi). Dandy style has many followers here in Seoul, above all among young people.
Beyond Closet by Ko Tae Yong always aims to a reconstruction and reinterpretation of classical items for guys in their twenties and thirties. To summarize Beyond Closet style we can use three simple words: practical, sophisticated and distinguished. For SS2013 Ko Tae Young was inspired by the theme “take a trip” as an occasion to taking a rest, refreshing ideas and thinking about a new beginning. Clothes’ fabrics are cotton and summer wool while main colors consists of navy & beige, enriched by insertion in more flaming colors such as lemon yellow and orange. Since we are talking about a trip is unavoidable to foresee a comfortable bag too while at feet Beyond Closet suggest a bi/three colored lace-up shoes. www.beyondcloset.com
VanHart di Albazar is a unique combination of Korean design (Doyoung Jung) and Italian taste (Lino Ieluzzi an Italian legendary figure in fashion, one of the first to enter Far East market a long time ago). The slogan of the duo is: “To attain perfection one must seek first balance and harmony, second comfort and third solidity”. This statement is well represented in the SS2013 collection, a very colorful series of original pieces well balanced between Classic and Modern, between Elegance and Technology. Yet is important to mention that new coming VanHart di Albazar brand is a part of the huge Korean Shinwon textile group, so creativity plus money it makes very likely a quickly success for the original duo. Please, Lino bring to Seoul me too! http://www.vanhartdialbazar.com/en/2012fw/html/index.asp
