People in the World | Pearl Tudtud

Somewhere in Southern Philippines, Pearl Tudtud’s hand flies to her mouth, tears threatening to spill from her eyes as she watches “The Notebook”. Surprisingly, this tear-prone lady’s favourite genre to jam to is flashy and colourful Korean pop! Pearl tells us about herself and a few cool places to check out in the Philippines.

Where do you live now and how long have you been living there?

I am currently living at the southern part of the Philippines and been living here since birth, which would be roughly 22 years already.

What are the languages that you are able to speak?

I can speak Tagalog pretty well with our province’s dialect Visayan and I can speak English too!

What is your second language?

I consider English as my second language since I am more comfortable speaking it as compared to speaking our dialect.

Describe your personality.

I am most of the time bubbly and loud with friends but kind of aloof and shy around strangers. I have a lot of patience when it comes to people but I do not want anyone to stretch it too much or else you will not like me ever again. Also, I get easily attached; people, things, pets, anything! I get touched and then most of the time end up shedding tears, like while watching a movie or drama, reading a book or listening to stories.

What kind of music do you listen to?

I listen to Korean pop most of the time. Any genre! Although I slightly favor R&B.

Where should we stay on our visit to your country?

I strongly recommend Palawan! It is a great place to relax since the view is nice with its gorgeous beach in El Nido!

What is your favourite restaurant around your area?

Nothing in particular. I just love to eat, everywhere is good!

Share with us some awesome stores you frequent.

I usually spend time looking at shops like Bettina, Mags, Kamiseta and Bayo. They sell dresses, semi-formal attires, those fancy blouses and cute frilly skirts.

What is your country’s best kept secret?

The fact that Andres Bonifacio was actually the first ever president and not Emilio Aguinaldo? I do not know a thing! Haha sorry!

We should visit your city because…

We have a great spot for white water rafting, Cagayan de Oro! It’s not much but I’m sure anyone who likes extreme sports will enjoy it!

What do you do in your free time?

It varies. I just do what I feel like doing. Most of the time, I watch movies, surf the net or just sleep.

Describe your personal style.

I am a tee-jeans-sneakers type of person. I usually go for comfy outfits.

What is your life motto?

“One step at a time.”

What do you think the most attractive quality in a person?

A compassionate person is always attractive!

Do you have a profile in any social media platforms?

Yes! I do have an account on Twitter, Facebook and Tumblr.
